Recently, I went with my daughter to see her doctor. It was her first visit and my wife and I were interviewing the peditrician to see if she would be a fit for our children. Normally when I take the day off, I leave my business cards and cell phone behind.
During the meeting with the Dr. she asked what my wife and I did for a living. I answered how I am a professional coach who works with business owners and their goals. To my surprise she said I cannot tell you how badly I need someone like you!
I politely handed her one of my business cards and stated that if she would like to meet and discuss my services in more detail I would gladly welcome the opportunity.
Lesson learned here: When you are out and about you never know when opportunity may strike next. Therefore it is always be prepared otherwise, you may miss out on an opportunity to connect with a future client.
