Earlier this week while I was out and about, my son Wesley had the opportunity to go to the movies for the first time. Going on the ripe old age of 3, mom thought it he was old enough to see his first movie. Soon when I returned home he had awoken from his nap, and he heard I was home. With great excitement he dashed out of his room to tell me the "big" news.
And what a movie he must had seen, there were penquins and of course cannot forget to mention the baby penquins. They danced and danced. Wesley even went so far as to show me the Happy Feet dance. For some reason, according to Wesley was not doing the dance right. He kept saying, "like this daddy." I made another attempted to get my feet to move in the right way. Try again, like this daddy, he laughed. He then mentioned eatting popcorn and how it was dark. Oh did I mention that there were penquins that were as tall as the wall. His passion for the movie made me think that he was about ready to sign us all up to become members of the local Happy Feet fan club.
He made me think about how business owners don't stop and celebrate their milestones. A sale becomes just another sale. Many of my clients remember their first sale but after that it becomes old hat. So for the Month of August, let's make it one that we recongize the small things we normally take for granted. Before you know it you will be doing the Happy Feet dance as well. I do have to tell you ahead of time you will need to practice because more than likely it has been awhile since you last danced.
